About

Leonore works with a mix of real and pop-cultural elements – she often blends familiar pop culture elements with motifs that evoke transience. Her paintings subtly play with aesthetic tensions.
She started exhibiting her work in 2025 and she enjoys the creative freedom that painting offers in contrast to her otherwise commercial work – her contemporary visual language is inspired, among other things, by her background in advertising. Studying at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, she combines classical techniques with modern narratives.
For her current works, she works exclusively with oil on velvet – a demanding and delicate surface that leaves no room for error. Yet, it's precisely this challenge that enables an extraordinarily rich texture and a remarkable sense of depth. The resulting compositions possess an impressive three-dimensionality, in which the subjects seem almost to emerge from the surface, as if on the verge of stepping out of the pictorial space.
